About CDS

The CDS was born in 2011 to facilitate education, research, conservation, scientific tourism and sustainable development activities. It is located in the San Alberto basin at just 1 km from the main entrance of the Yanachaga Chemillén National Park in Oxapampa, Central Amazon Rainforest, in Peru.

Contributing with the sustainable development of the BIOAY and facilitating the participation of international and national students in field experiences.

The team

Our mission is providing resources and field experiences in the cloud forest for knowledge transfer in research, conservation and sustainable development through education.


CDS is constantly growing and developing so that we can offer the best services in the central cloud forest region of Peru. Currently have available space for audiovisual presentations as well as for leisure, we also have research and field equipment.

Toilets with biodigester and showers with hot water to receive groups


Open area ideal for group activities (presentations, brainstorming ) or for socializing.


Shared dorm room equipped to provide comfort to visitors

Hot water and electricity

Shower with hot water and electricity provided by a small hydroelectric plant. We can charge computers, phones and other equipment 24 hrs a day


The lab is prepared for bringing services to support different projects.

Meals and Snacks:

Daily meals cooked by CDS staff with fresh local products.


Conditioning for the cultivation of agricultural and forestry species.

Orchid garden

Conditioning for research, identification and cultivation of orchids.
