Orchids conservation

Orchids belong to the Orchidaceae family; they have attractive flowers very likely to be illegally collected from forests by people. Also they require specific conditions in order to germinate their seeds. These facts combined with habitat degradation and a decreasing of natives pollinators develop orchids into threatened species.

Consequently, we are looking for their conservation reproducing individuals by natural process (insects’ pollination) and by an induced procedure (assisted pollination). Our aim is to reintroduce orchids in areas where they disappeared due to illegally extraction along with an education process to ensure community will conserve them.
